HAECO advocates sight-saving mission with tenth sponsorship year of Orbis Flying Eye Hospital in Hong Kong

HAECO, a leading world-class provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to global airlines, will provide services and venue sponsorship to the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital as it returns to Hong Kong for the “Orbis ‧ Hop Shing Hong Flying Eye Hospital See Love Tour 2024” this month. The iconic aircraft, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to promote eye health awareness and provide needed training to medical professionals, will be parked at HAECO’s Hong Kong facility until 7 March 2024 where it will receive vital support services from HAECO’s dedicated line services team.

HAECO has been a steadfast partner of the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital and its goodwill tours since their first partnership at Kai Tak Airport in 1994. This year marks the tenth sponsorship year of HAECO for Orbis’ Hong Kong tour as the aircraft returns to the city after an eight-year hiatus. In addition to offering essential logistics support to ensure the smooth execution of the tours, HAECO will also provide gift-in-kind maintenance services for the aircraft, including vehicle escort and parking, ground power unit, and cabin cleaning.

Richard Sell, Chief Executive of HAECO Group says at the opening ceremony, “As Orbis’ long-standing partner, we are delighted to witness the steady increase in the number of visitors to Orbis’ goodwill tours over the years. Taking into account the 3,000 expected visitors this year, 35,000 people will have had the privilege of experiencing the life-changing work of Orbis firsthand over the course of our partnership.”

Apart from taking up the role as Orbis’ services and venue sponsor in Hong Kong, HAECO has also made substantial contribution to the charitable organisation’s mission by helping it drive its fundraising and awareness campaigns. Numerous media events have been organised at the HAECO Hong Kong facility with support of HAECO staff through the years to promote Orbis’ mission to a wider audience.
